Well i grew up kind of tall i grew alright in the middle of this country on a wet spring night
Mom and Dad they split up about a quarter to five they left a guitar so i decided to write about me and all things that i would see
I lived with my Mom but kept in touch with my Dad he wrote me ride your guitar she taught me steer when you sing I hit a few flat notes maybe one to many so i did a little time in that Rock County jail to write the truth about me
I used that jail as a school when i did my time writing through the jail house chatter and rhyme
I played the guitar in the back of my mind and practiced all the beats to the clap of my hand.
Nine months flew by i was a free man gonna move to the city start a rock in roll band
